Gary Feeney
President, At-Large
Gary represents the At-Large position on the commission. He graduated from Edon High School in 1985 and joined the United States Navy in 1986 serving during the Persian Gulf War-Dessert Shield. He was elected as the Commander of the Bryan VFW Post 2489 in 2014 and continues to serve in that position. He held the position of District One Commander for the VFW Department of Ohio in 2015 to 2016. He currently works for Sauder’s in management. Gary and his wife Jan have five children and eleven grandchildren and reside in Bryan, Ohio.
Andrew C. Kaufmann
Vice-President, Veterans of Foreign Wars
Andy served in the US Marines from 1964 to 1968. He has served on the commission since 2001 and is a member of the VFW Post 2489.
Amy Waterston
Secretary, AMVETS
Amy is a 1999 graduate of North Central High School. She joined the United States Army in 1999 and served in Iraq in 2004 to 2005. She became an officer at the AMVETS Post 54 in 2010 and also is employed by the AMVETS since then. She does community service for the AMVETS. She and her daughter Nanci reside in Bryan, Ohio.
Marty Potts
Member, The American Legion
Marty of Bryan, Ohio was sworn in as the American Legion representative on the Williams County Veterans Service Commission. Marty is a member and a past Commander of the Bryan American Legion post 284. Marty Served in the US Army Reserves. He did Basic Training at Ft. Jackson and his Advanced Individual Training at Redstone Arsenal. From there he returned home and served with the 221st Ordnance Co. out of Auburn, Indiana.
Marty spent twenty-five years in law enforcement both as a police office and a deputy sheriff. He is a long time WWII historian specializing in the aircraft used during that time. He is married to Sheree Potts.
Joshua King
Member, DAV
Army Veteran Joshua King was sworn in on January 4th as the DAV Commissioner. Josh, who is a North Central High School graduate, earned his Combat Infantry Badge in Afghanistan. Josh is currently a full-time student using the VA’s Vocational Rehabilitation program to earn a degree in Healthcare Administration. This program provides payment of tuition; fees, supplies and living stipend to service connected disabled veterans.
Josh is very familiar with the challenges of coming home after a difficult deployment. He, therefore, will be very helpful in attracting veterans into our office who have thus far been unable to do so. Because he has worked with the Veteran Service Office to secure benefits from the VA, he will also be a great ambassador for our office in our community.
After getting out of the Army he worked as the maintenance supervisor for Williams County. He has also been a strong supporter of the revitalization of the Williams County DAV Chapter 83. Josh, his wife Amy and their three children reside in Montpelier.
