Village
Independence
At The Village, seniors maintain an independent and private lifestyle. Assistance is available for some daily activities, if necessary. Each apartment has 410 square feet of private living space, including a bathroom, kitchenette, living area and bed alcove.
An under counter refrigerator and a microwave oven are provided so tenants may rise on their own schedules and prepare their own breakfasts. These appliances also make it possible for tenants to prepare their favorite snacks whenever they wish.
Maintaining the highest level of independence possible is important to a person’s sense of identity and happiness. It is our objective to encourage a productive, active and useful life for senior adults. Our goal is to help each person continue a high quality of life in a supportive environment, with many value added services.
Rooms
All rooms have been decorated with pleasing colors and fabrics. A bed and bedside table are provided, as well as all linens for the bed and bath. Tenants bring their own furniture, pictures and other small items so they can personalize their new home. The tenant’s home is cleaned and fresh linens are provided weekly.
Safety
The safety of our tenants is of great importance to us. There is an emergency call system located by the bedside and in the bathroom of each apartment. Tenants and family members can rest assured that help will be immediately available should an emergency situation arise. All medications are passed by nursing professionals if needed.
Meals
The Village tenants may choose to have a full breakfast in The Meadows Dining Room or select a Continental breakfast in the Culler Room. Dinner and supper are served in the beautiful Cranbrook Great Room, our spacious dining room overlooking the peaceful country grounds. Our midday meal is the largest meal of the day. We prepare many old family favorites and serve them family style to help maintain the warm intimacy of home.
Activities
Tenants may be as active as they choose to be. There is an ongoing schedule of activities, special events, and outings planned specifically for them. These activities include relaxing rides in the country, movies, bingo, family events, Bible studies and shopping trips.
Visits
We always encourage suggestions that will add to the neighborhood atmosphere of The Village. We hope that family and friends will visit often. The Culler Room, Village Square, Library and Conservatory, are common areas located throughout The Village, ideal for entertaining. We also recognize the importance of spending time with a beloved family pet and encourage these visits.
Assistance to Other Facilities
Should a tenant find that his or her need for assistance is becoming greater than what can be provided in the apartment setting, Village tenants are given priority admission to The Heritage or Anna’s House upon the availability of like gender bed. Transitions are handled with compassion and respect, recognizing each person’s strengths and needs.
