About the Williams County Interdisciplinary Team (I-Team)

The Williams County Interdisciplinary Team (I-Team) is a collaboration of professionals from multiple agencies and community partners who work together to respond to cases involving abuse, neglect, self-neglect, and exploitation of adults in Williams County.

The I-Team brings together diverse expertise to ensure that individuals receive the support and resources they need, while promoting dignity, safety, and well-being.


What the I-Team Does

The I-Team meets regularly to:

  • Consult on complex cases involving adult abuse, neglect, self-neglect, or exploitation

  • Share perspectives across disciplines to guide effective solutions

  • Promote best practices in care and service delivery

  • Support the work of agency staff and validate their efforts

  • Identify and connect individuals to local resources

  • Address systemic gaps and challenges within the county

  • Respect the rights and dignity of the adults they serve

All shared information is treated with strict confidentiality.


Who Makes Up the I-Team?

The I-Team includes professionals from a variety of Williams County agencies and organizations:

  • Job and Family Services

  • Parkview Hospital

  • Department of Aging

  • Prosecutor’s Office

  • Williams County Commissioners

  • Williams County Communications

  • Ohio Guidestone

  • Common Pleas Court

  • Local Police and Sheriff’s Offices

  • Engaged Community Members

Each team member contributes unique knowledge, skills, and perspectives to create coordinated and compassionate responses.

The mission of the Williams County I-Team is to maintain a collaborative and coordinated community response that:

  • Restores or ensures a safe environment

  • Improves overall quality of life for vulnerable adults

  • Empowers individuals to make their own decisions when mentally capable

  • Promotes the use of the least restrictive solutions whenever possible

  • Supports accountability for those who commit harm

  • Respects the dignity of every individual referred to the team
